Mild sunburning excursion.

I really tried to capture the moment of the two llamas in a beautiful act of creating life, but the male was faster than me.  Someone in our group was on the ball, and I ganked a copy from him, because it was just one of those things you feel the urge to share. So enjoy the during and after:

It was one hell of a hike up this beast of a mountain to get to the ruin site,
and I was sure my lungs would collapse. But TOTALLY worth it!  So beautiful! I think our group spent 3 hours walking around and enjoying Inca engineering/architecture. The story is that Sacsayhuamán was a fortress, and Cusco was laid out in the shape of Puma, and Sacsayhuamán was the head, these walls are shaped like teeth. Its incredible the reasoning and purpose for what was in fact an effective/useful protection fortress layout thingiemabobber. The puma is big in Inca culture, and so the symbolism for this spot is huge, and the layout was also advantageous for the Incas because attacking forces had all flanks exposed, if you want the straight scoop wiki it.
Here is just an awesome view of the Plaza de Armas from Sacsayhuaman.

And over here we have examples of the incredible capabilities Inca's had with rock piling.  I'm not sure it's obvious, but some of these rocks had been warped into a concave bend. They were sculpted to fit an angle in the wall!  SO COOL!

And because I am so self centered, here are some portrait shots were I do not look sick.  This one's for you Goose.

Right next to Sacsayhuaman is the Cristo of Cusco, which I'm pretty sure was given to them by Paraguay, but I could be completely making that up...It was a goat trail of a pain in the ___ to get to, or maybe a llama trail would be a more fitting description for the location, anyway, it was a lot of fun and I totally managed rock slides without camera damaging! It did take a red hot second to realize I could just  put the camera in my backpack, (which has been awesome, by the way; thanks Grandma and Granddad!) while climbing and whatnot. Anyway, here are the pictures:

Why do you assume that it was just the male that was "faster than you"? The female may have been finished as well. Thanx for the Heather-pics. I can see you there now, your enjoyment. 'goose

Really Goose? C'mon. The guy is ontop, he got off (literally) before I could capture on film....so maybe the female "got off" as well, but let's not assume anything. I totally should have videoed the dog fight I caught two nights ago over a bitch in the plaza outside my apartment. That was another moment i wasn't fast enough for. shucks.
